JRGBC-CV Luncheon: Advanced Transportation for the 21st Century

Can Virginia become the New Detroit?

Automobiles are such an integral part of American culture it is impossible to talk about sustainable design without addressing the role of advanced transportation.

Not only is the automobile an integral part of American culture it represents a significant portion of the energy consumption in the US.  Only through a wholesale paradigm shift is the US ever going to reduce our consumption of oil.   Last year a company from Virginia, Edison 2, help define the transition to a more fuel efficient economy by winning the Progressive Insurance Automotive X prize with their groundbreaking new “Very Light Car” and in the process they set new standards for automobile efficiency.

The James River Green Building Council is pleased to welcome David  Brown of the Edison 2 company to our luncheon series “Sustainable Design for the 21st Century” where they will be speaking on the future of the Edison 2 program and its role in the future of advanced transportation.

This luncheon will be held at City Space, 100 5th St. NE, on the Downtown Mall, Charlottesville, VA. Doors open at 11:50 and the Seminar begins at noon.

Luncheons are free and open to the public; however, advance registration is required.  Lunches are ordered based on pre-registration, so please RSVP by the deadline and cancel your registration if you can’t attend before the deadline.
