JRGBC-Charlottesville May Luncheon: Green Building- A Developer’s Perspective

Green design and construction practices have become standard for public institutions; in fact, UVA and many municipalities now mandate new buildings be built to the U.S. Green Building Council LEED standard.   The commercial and residential markets, however,  have no such mandate.  In a free market economy learn how and why local developers are embracing eco-friendly designs to enhance the communities they develop and the individual buildings they construct.

Two well-known local developers, Frank Stoner and Jim Stultz, as well as Joseph Barnes from Bundoran Farm will discuss their perspectives on green building in the commercial and residential market in Charlottesville, including their successes, and the challenges they have overcome.  Join the Charlottesville  Branch of the James River Green Building Council for a glimpse into the future of green development in the Charlottesville area.

This luncheon will be held at City Space, 100 5th St. NE, on the Downtown Mall, Charlottesville, VA. Doors open at 11:50 and the Seminar begins at approximately 12:10 pm.

Luncheons are free and open to  the public; however, advance registration is required by Friday, May 6th.
