JRGBC/PSG Present: Virginia Association of Counties Eco-Building Tour: Registration Closed
Registration for this event is now closed. Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience!
The James River Green Building Council and Partnership for Smarter Growth are proud to work together to present an Eco-Building tour of the LEED Gold Virginia Association of Counties Building, a Virginia Landmark listed on the National Historic Registry and located in the heart of downtown Richmond that not only boasts impressive green features, but also demonstrates principles of smart growth.
Being held on August 10, 2010, this tour is a unique opportunity to visit one of the oldest buildings in downtown Richmond, explore and network with colleagues and friends. Built in 1866, the original Donnan-Asher building has been converted into attractive and functional office space by architect Joseph Yates and contractor Century Construction. It is now owned by the Virginia Association of Counties and houses, among other businesses, Virginia Business Magazine.
Eco-friendly features of the building include a green roof, low VOC interior paint, restored heavy timber structure, low flow plumbing fixtures, daylighting, and wood framing reused for custom millwork & furniture.
This tour will take place August 10, 2010 from 5:30-7:30 pm. Networking will begin at 5:30, and building tours and brief presentation will follow at 6:00. Light refreshments will be provided.
The cost of this event is $10 for JRGBC and PSG members and $15 for non-members. JRGBC members should register via e-mail using the link below. Non-members may also register online by using this link. PSG members should send a check or cash along with their name and company information to:
